Santa puts his elves to work

So Santa, i.e. Craig Richards has stopped delivering presents to his elves, DL and NB. Not surprising given the amount of work that goes into each boat. Instead he put us to work building our own boats which is fair enough. Its been a few four years since I built my Alternatives.

The latest design file, the one with the fin back and a few mods to the shape was sent to Dave Lindsay so he could print the 3 hull sections, one in blue and and one orange. His workshop is a thing of beauty although it is rapidly being filled with a variety of boats. We spent Wednesday and Thursday making bits of wire for the sheeting eyes and the B rig jib sheet tie down eye to the floor, stuck in the platform for the winch (now aft of the mast, and rudder servo, sanding the joints and then gluing the three sections together and later on Friday sanding the whole lot down for glassing next week.

The hull has the fin box and rudder post holder printed in the hull making assembly very easy.

Cant wait to see the new design in the hands of Santa.
