This is the way to build an IOM

I received an email from Henry Winters offering a few tips on making the fin position adjustable but also included some pictures of what must be one of the most beautiful IOM builds. Gets my vote for prettiest boat of the year so far.
"Hi Nigel. I am an enthusiastic RC boat builder. I have done a few 3D printed designs and I agree on the superiority of polymax. I do design things for my IOM’s in a very simple CAD program (tinkercad, meant for kids, but works ok for me). I do design and print my mast/keel boxes, so I can determine the bulb position I want. The lead is the position of the mast relative to the keel. It is the most important factor in finding balance. I nowadays make a square keelbox with an inlay that fits the keel. I have 2 cm play fore/aft, so by changing the inlay, I can easily change the lead without any modifications to keel and bulb. Just wanted to share this with you. Ps: I also enjoy building woodies. I have recently built a V8 in sitka spruce. She looks beautiful and can compete with any glass/epoxy IOMiom at national level in Holland.
