A brilliant DF TT weekend at Eastbourne

Whatever you think about the DF design, it provides serious one design racing as was proved at Eastbourne las weekend.
We were led by the Eastbourne race team who delivered great courses over the weekend in glorious sunshine. The wind blew from the right direction and enabled a course to be set down the full length of the lake.
OK, not every DF sailor has full knowledge of the rules or perfect control on their boats all the time so there is scope for accidental collision as I witnessed when I was taken out in several starts through no fault of my own. That aside the same boats found their way to the front of the fleet. There were enough wind shifts to easily make up for bad luck.
In the DF 65 series on Saturday John Tushingham won with me close behind. On Sunday at the DF95 series, after nearly 20 races, the point for the top three were 37, 38 and 39. David Donin from Gosport had a Stellar afternoon after a not so stellar morning and with several wins accumulated in afternoon session took the winners prize. Buzz Coleman was second, me third and John Tushingham forth.
If you want good racing, I can highly recommend getting into the DF class. If nothing else it gives more practice on the race course in a competitive fleet.
