Back from Scotland

Would you expect to see the following words or phrases in the same sentence. Glorious, clear blue sky, sunburn, rainless and no midges for two weeks, Scotland.

We have just had the most amazing trip around mid Scotland. From Dundee to Braemar, to Dalwhinnie (for the whisky of course), to fort William, to Malaig, to Oban, Falls of Bruar, Perth, Minnie coal pit memorial and back South. Not a drop of rain since 25 April and clear blue skies every day. It was so relaxing we forgot the days of the week. Campervan life is wonderful. On the way we saw 4 eagles including one only 30 feet away flying through some trees.

Proteus. May have sorted the nose issue

If you plan to improve performance I have slipped in a couple of new articles on the web site under the heading racing tips, performance improvement, coaching and a sample campaign plan

So having returned from Scotland it is time to get busy with the Proteus. Craig is very pleased with the revised design and seems to have sorted the nose diving issue without losing any windward performance. The nose issue has plagued the deign since the startoving the fin and mast back and some other tweaks has done the trick. I have a new boat in print and will be sanding, glassing and sanding again, clearcoating with a final sand and polish to finish. Once sailing I can report first hand the design improvements. There is no change to the rigs on the new boat other than I can trim the bottom of the mast to get the main boom closer to the deck.

Here are a couple of the spectacular views in Scotland
