The gremlins are gone for now

The new winch is reliable as is the 40mm drum. I so much prefer a regular drum over a spiral. You know exactly where you are with the sheeting.

Practiced at the venue in the morning to check out the behaviour of the new drum. Used both a and b rig and all working perfectly. Nice to know I can sheet out without worrying whether I will be able to sheet in again. Lined up against a few boats and happy with speed. The wind is very shifty so there was not much point trying to tune.

Tomorrow is measuring day and I am third on at 9:20. Once I have that out of the way, it’ll be a bit more practice if the wind is in the right direction. And then probably head off for lunch again and have an easy afternoon. on Monday I will sail in the afternoon prior to the opening ceremony.

The weather is hot with a northerly wind bringing in warmer weather so I am trying to take it easy and not get overheated as I did a couple of days ago.
