Thought for the Day - What size of line for the mainsheet

I upgraded my mainsheet from 35kg line to 55 kg line to reduce the number of times I have to replace the sheet because of wear. Unfortunately sailing in very light weather revealed a flaw in the plan. The boom would not run out so easily when running downwind. It only affects sailing in a flat calm so I will stick with the stronger line for the moment.

I can also report that the kilner jar rubber seal has solved the leaky radio pot.

Off to Birmingham this weekend for the Bourneville IOM open. The good news is there will be a 5-17 mph breeze up and down the lake. Should be fun.

There is going to be some brilliant competition with over 20 boats. What a start to the season. Can't wait.
