Worlds day 1

We spent a lot of the morning waiting for the wind to shift. Once the course was laid my strategy was to get right as soon as possible after the start. There was a bit of a pile up to weather of me which meant I only had to duck one transom and I was in the top three. Boat speed was really good and I was confident of the set up. I set the boat up with a mast relatively straight with less kicker to allow the boom to stay out on the run when the wind went soft.

Used the same set up in race two but I made 2 silly errors. First I attempted a port end start. The wind headed and I could not cross the line and hit the mark. One turn done I was in the pack at the windward mark but did not see a boat to leeward on the reach to the spreader mark. Another turn and my race was done. B heat beckons.

The B heat is the first race today.
